The 7 Precepts of Huna

Huna is a Hawaiin sharmanic tradition. The Hawaiin Kahunas kept this knowledge alive by hidding it after the arrival of the Europeans on the islands. It is now coming back alive and being shared with the world.

The Huna Precepts are seven elements that describe our world and how we function in it.  They are useful to help identify areas that aren't working as well as they could.

The Precepts are:

Ike - The world is what you think it is

Kala - There are no limits

Makia - Energy flows where attention go

Manawa - Now is the moment of power

Aloha - To love is to be happy with

Mana - All power comes from within

Pono - Effectiveness is the measure of truth

 

Thoughts Journal

The Thoughts Journal is a great way to identify what you are thinking unconsciously and bring them into conscious awareness.  It also helps to identify if your thoughts are predominately positive and support you or negative and are unsupportive.

Use this daily to become aware of your thoughts and where you are focusing your energy.....

 

Breathing Technique to Reduce Stress and Recharge the Mind & Body:

Use the following breathing technique to help reduce your holiday season stress and recharge yourself. This exercise engages the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), which acts like a brake to the runaway stress response.

Do not do this while you are driving or operating machinery!!.

Find a chair

Sit comfortably:

Close your eyes

Breathe all the way out

Now take a deep breathe in to the count of 4 (fill your lungs from the diaphragm)

Now breathe out slowly to the count of 6

Pause for the count of 2

Take another deep breathe to the count of 4

Breathe out to the count of 6

Pause for 2

Repeat this exercise until you feel redy to rejoin the world.
